- Open Source Initiative: Body that defines what “open source” legally means, sets policy and standards, and advocates for open source.
- CURIOSS: A collaboration of academic OSPOs (Syracuse is one!)

- US Research Software Engineer Association (US-RSE): A community-driven effort focused on the increasingly important role of the Research Software Engineer.
